We stayed at the Hilton Amsterdam for a long weekend in August '08. The architecture of place itself is rather dated and although well up to 5 star standards, is beginning to appear a litte scruffy at the corners. Service was courteous but formulaic. No complaints at all here but as another review says, this hotel is clearly aimed at... more

a really fine hotel.....the greatest mattress I have ever experienced and the linen was top of the line.....Tips....trams #5 and 24 get you to within 2 blocks but you cannot see the hotel until you walk the two blocks. Get off at Apollolaan. Plus, the tram may not stop unless you push the button ahead of time. My biggest complaint... more

Stayed at this property for 2 nights and used hilton hhonors points. I checked in at around 1pm and was told the only room available was one with two twin beds, right next to the elevator with a view of the lovely parking lot. My profile clearly states I prefer a King bed away from the elevator. I was so... more

We got a great rate through Priceline. Stayed for 2 nights and then moved to the Marriott for two nights. The Hilton is in a very nice part of Amsterdam - quieter than the center of town. We enjoyed exploring this area and seeing how people lived in this upscale area. Getting into Amsterdam was a breeze with the tram... more

We were at the Amsterdam Hilton for 3 nights before a cruise. Booked through Priceline, which can be a crap shoot. But this time we hit the jackpot! Our perfectly appointed room was on the 5th floor, overlooking an idyllic canal. The staff was the best I've ever encountered - from the front desk, to the bellmen, to the housekeepers... more

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights over Easter 2008. We booked direct with the hotel. In hindsight perhaps we could have got a cheaper rate, although perhaps Easter is a premium time. Got a bit lost trying to find the hotel as we got off at the wrong tram stop. Once you are there though the hotel is a... more

For the price of this hotel, I expected more. There's nothing terribly wrong with it, it's just a little faded and stuffy. Prices for food and amenities are fairly outrageous as it primarily caters to business travelers. For example 28 Euros for a club sandwich from room service is pretty steep. If you want a quiet neighborhood in Amsterdam though,... more

I thought the hotel was excellent. Myself (Chris Hutnan) and several of my friends attended. The hotel was a little outside the main part of town, but was a nice escape in the morning and evening. more

We loved our stay at Hilton. It is in a quiet residential area away from the center. This makes for pleasant walks around the canals in the evening and through the nearby Vondelpark in the day. If you are coming to this hotel for tourism, understand that you will be riding a tram to the attractions most days. However, it... more

We stayed at the Hilton Amsterdam for two nights in Amsterdam. This trip was part of a 15 night trip to Europe. The booking at this location was on a Hilton HHonors reward stay. We booked a queen non-smoking room and ended up with a large King non-smoking room. As a side note, this hotel is entirely non smoking as... more
