The Cocker gave us a wonderful introduction to Buenos Aires. After a long flight from London, sitting outside on the terrace and chatting about our plans and receiving suggestions from Amanda was the ideal start. The building is very characterful, airy and bright. Breakfast was a simple but tasty and filling affair. Our room (12-06) was large and quiet with... more

We stayed at the Cocker for 5 nights in November. It was our first time to South America and we were a little nervous about safety but we were so glad we chose San Telmo and the Cocker for our introduction to BsA.. The neighbourhood and the Cocker suited us very well - enough local flavour and interest, with ordinary... more

We booked our stay several months before the management changed, and were wondering what to expect. We couldn't have been happier. The rooms were clean. We enjoyed the casual (and not too early!) breakfast where we could meet the other tenants and exchange suggestions for activities. Amanda, Mariana and Gustavo were all helpful without being pushy or meddlesome. And we... more

My huband and I spent the first 3 nights of our honeymoon at the Cocker and we loved it. Amanda and her team were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. On checking in Amanda greeted us with coffee and a map of shops, bars and restaurants recommended by the Cocker - a really good idea we didn't find anywhere else.... more

After a warm welcome, a relaxing coffee and chat with the present owner, Amanda, I entered into the interesting world of the Cocker. With its wacky interior design, wonderful windows, great roof terrace, friendly employees and intriguing fellow-travellers, I had a great stay. Sure, there are some down points - limited storage space in the rooms, no credit card acceptance..... more

I recently spent six nights at the Cocker, and overall, I had a very nice stay and felt that the B&B is a tremendous value for money. From the start, Amanda was friendly and extremely professional in all her correspondence. Most days, Amanda served breakfast and answered questions, made reservations, arranged tango lessons, etc. in the morning hours from 9-early... more

We stayed two nights at the Cocker when we arrived in Buenos Aires. We had been desperate to stay there due to the fab reviews Aiden and Ian had received. We were met at the airport by a lovely driver and greeted by Marianna (who works there). She couldn't have made us feel more welcome and continued to do so... more

As discussed in previous review, the owners have now changed and took with them much of the charm of the place. LOCATION - POOR AREA NEAR TO LA BOCA. An Argentinian friend advised this was a dodgy location, it was, it could be nearer San Telmo centre without having to walk under the flyover past the homeless. I prefer the... more

My husband and I have just returned to the US after 4 nights at The Cocker, and it was just fabulous. After staying the first 3 nights at a B&B a few blocks away that was just short of a nightmare, The Cocker was a breath of fresh air. Great to look at, rooms cleaned daily, nice continental breakfast every... more

Just read the previous review and have to disagree completely. While my partner and I didn't experience the hospitality of previous owners, Amanda was a gracious host and everything we expected of the Cocker was there - cool, understated, great location. Also - if you are into tango, Amanda can really hook you up with the best instructors, shows, milongas,... more
